Two of the houses on our street have been empty for a couple of months now. Funny, because apparently there is a HUGE waiting list for military housing. I guess folks are holding out for the more convenient locations. Our neighborhood is a long commute and a bit isolated, so I can imagine that doesn't appeal to some people.
A month or so ago I chatted with a couple of families that were out here looking around because the men had just finished basic training and were being transferred out here. They seemed pretty interested and asked a lot of questions about the area. I figured when they didn't show up a couple of weeks ago, that they had decided the boonies weren't for them.
But low and behold, at 9am this morning, two massive moving trucks showed up. One for each empty house. Looks like our little street is fully inhabited again!
Of course, our neighbors are moving out for month end.....
