Do you know that the Twinrix shot is not covered by Nova Scotia MSI?
I don't mean the actual prescription...which by the way costs $67 per shot (and I have to have three shots because we are leaving on our trip within six weeks of my first shot...expedited version).
I mean that doctors' offices actually charge $20 just to stick the needle in your arm.
Yup, you read that right. $20 for the doctor to open the box, wipe my arm with an alcohol swab, and stab me. Takes less than 30 seconds.
And I have to do it three times.
$67 x 3 + $20 x 3 = $261
Oh, and I'll have to get the booster in about 10 months.
Ridiculous.

WOW, you need to get a new doctor!
It's been 8 years since I got my shots, but I didn't have to pay anything for the Dr. to give me the shots.
I was re-imbursed for 80% of the vacines thru my husband's (military) health insurance so you should get at least that much back.
Oh, I will probably get those fees reimbursed...it was just the point that certain shots aren't covered.
It's not just my doctor...it's all doctors in HRM.
Who are you?
Ouch!
Sorry, I am not a blogger I just read some of the weight watcher related ones. Keeps me from eating!
Also a navy wife.
Just go downtown and get a junkie to shoot you up. They have lots of experience and I'm sure they'd charge less than $20!
Wow, Mikey has a great idea and think of all the money you'd save. Of course you'd probably end up with Hep C down the road.... ;o))
We don't have nearly as many readily available junkies here as you do there. It's a shame since that would be sooo handy. ptttth.
Thankfully my sister is a nurse and when I have to get those vaccinations she can give them to me for free :)
THat is RiDONKulous! wtf? I wonder what it is here... I should look into that...
