The Amazing Race (13)

I honestly don't care if I ever miss any of the other shows I watch...but if I miss Amazing Race I get very cranky.

Is it just me or are all of the teams annoying as hell this season?

I don't care. It's still good!

BB10

I finally got caught up on the episodes of Big Brother 10 I DVR'd this past week.

Can't say that I'm in love with anyone just yet. It was pretty funny to see that Brian guy get backdoored right away though. That's what happens when you think you are king of the castle far too soon. Cocky gets bit in the ass. Too bad though because he likely could have kept things interesting.

Not sure what the big deal is about Memphis. So far I haven't seen anything that leads me to believe he's the dark horse that could win this thing. Not that you can ever tell this early on.

I like Ollie, but it's too bad he likes April. Bitchy blonde bimbo. Blech.

And I could do without Renny. She's wierd and annoying. Unfortunately they'll probably end up keeping her around for a while because she's no threat to anyone.

Jesse could prove to be better at this than we thought. Well, if he can quit looking at himself in the mirror. Love yourself much?

That's all I've got so far. At least now I have something to keep me entertained while DBF is gone for the WHOLE MONTH of August.

Foiled by the DVR

That's two weeks in a row that my Sunday night Big Brother didn't record. It says Big Brother in the description, but it's actually 60 Minutes. Boooooo!

Tonight I'll be investigating the stupid TV guide to find out what's going on! How am I supposed to have a slacker lunch hour on Mondays without any Big Brother on the DVR?! Now I'll have to go online to find out who got nominated and that's just not the same thing. I need the car wreck of a nomination ceremony to make it fun. Geeze!

Big Brother Update

You may have noticed that I haven't been posting any weekly reviews of the shows lately. That's because DBF is home now, and I won't subject him to my car-wreck of a TV watching choice. He can't stand reality TV (and who can blame him really) and BB is the worst of the bunch for someone that doesn't watch these types of shows to begin with.

Here I found my love of the DVR though. Oh the joy that at pretty much any given time I can click on my list of recorded programs and likely find an episode of BB. Like yesterday, while I ate my lunchtime pita, I was able to lose myself in the show for a good 30 minutes...and I was able to fast-forward through all of the commercials and stupid recaps for a nice, condensed version.

The show actually frustrates me to no end. Maybe that's why I watch?

Adam as HOH is terrible. The guy can't think for himself and is annoying as shit to listen to. At least he took the advice he was given and put up James and Chelsea. I loved them as a couple, but now that everyone is playing for themselves I just want to see them gone. I'm still cheering for Natalie, especially now that Matty is gone... she is playing the game and seems to have finally gotten out of that "love-fog" she was in. Ryan would be my second choice. But everyone else needs to go! Joshua is a snake. Sharon is lame. Sheila is annoying.

OK, this was a terrible recap. More of a rant, but whatever. LOL. It's not like I'm writing a speech for the Emmy's or something!

Edit: I just watched the eviction show during today's lunch, and ding dong the bitch is gone. Thank God. That Chelsea was immature and nuttier than the usual for BB.

Big Brother Update

OK, not really so much an update, as it is a comment.

Was that not the most bizarre challenge you have ever seen on the show? Dressing the girls in asparagus unitards, with real asparagus hats that looked like the Jolly Green Giant's lampshade?

Did BB accidentally invest in a major asparagus crop this year?

Who thinks this stuff up?

(I won't even get into the fact that it was a MAJOR waste of food....)

And check this out for a hilarious recap of how I think we all feel about Joshua.

Big Brother Update

***SPOILER ALERT***
If you haven't watched this week's episodes yet, stop reading here!

I let the DVR tape Tuesday night's episode, so I ended up watching it right before last night's show. Geeze, talk about a turn around since my last post on this. So much for Amanda and Alex being the coolest couple in the house. She turned out to be a yappy bubblehead and he turned out to be a bit of a stuck up arse. Too bad...I thought they were cute.

I still think that they shouldn't have been voted out just yet, but I'm glad it was them before Matt & Nat. (I would gladly see Sheila and Adam go...both SOOOOOOOOOOO annoying. Or if Allison could get voted out without Ryan, I'd go for that too. She's a nutter, but he's OK so I don't know what to think.) So far, Matt seems to be the only one playing the game properly and Nat is just too damn cute for her own good. They are strong and fun to watch in the challenges. But because they are strong, I'm sure they won't be off the block for long. All of the weaker teams will know they can't win against them and keep working to get them out the door.

Although James seems to be a good guy (the way he dealt with Amanda's fainting and the way he lives outside of the house), I don't like how he's playing the game. It's one thing to have a strategy, but bold face lying about not putting Matt up on the block was just lame as far as I am concerned. Why say anything to the guy at all? What was the point of that? And Chelsia just seems to be going along with whatever James says. Get some opinions of your own, would ya!

Not sure how I feel about Joshua and Sharon. His total meltdown attack of Amanda was ridiculous and over the top, so I lost any interest I had in him at that point. We'll see how they play this week as HOH and I'll decide from there. Hopefully they stick with their friendship with Matt & Nat because I'd like to see them stay.
